For Referral Partners

You already know who's good. Get paid for saying so.

Every clinician knows a colleague who deserves a better seat. Refer them to a verified role — and if they're hired, you get paid. No recruiting, no screening, no pipeline to manage. One form and you're done.

How it works

Three steps, and two of them aren't yours.

1
YOU REFER

Send us a name.

One short form: who they are, what they do, and how to reach them. You confirm they're happy to be referred. That's the whole ask.

2
WE RECRUIT

A specialist takes over.

A Talent Partner who has actually worked in your colleague's field handles the conversation, the screening and the process. You are never asked to sell or chase.

3
YOU GET PAID

Paid when they're placed.

If your referral is hired, you receive the reward that was stated on the role before you submitted. Nothing to invoice, nothing to negotiate.

Who this is for

The people who already get asked “do you know someone?”

Referral Partners aren't recruiters and aren't expected to become them. You're a working professional who knows who's good, who's ready to move, and who would actually fit — and that knowledge is the scarcest thing in clinical hiring.

  • Veterinarians, technicians and practice staff who know who's ready for a change
  • Psychiatrists, PMHNPs, BCBAs, therapists and psychologists with strong peer networks
  • Practice managers and clinic leads who hear who's unhappy before anyone else does
  • Faculty, residency and training-program staff who know each graduating cohort
  • Anyone who has been asked “do you know someone?” and actually did
You only need one name. There's no minimum, no quota and no obligation to refer again. Refer once a year or once a month — the reward on each role is the same either way.
What you never have to doYOUR SCOPE
Recruit or screen. A specialist Talent Partner from their field runs the entire process.
Manage a pipeline. No CRM, no follow-ups, no status chasing — we keep you posted.
Pitch anyone. Your part ends at the introduction. Nobody expects a sales call from you.
Hit a quota. One referral is a complete contribution. There is no minimum and no exclusivity.
You do need their permissionconfirm your colleague is happy to be referred before you submit their details. That consent is the one rule we don't bend.
Rewards are set per role and stated before you submit. Payment terms are confirmed in writing when your referral is accepted.
What it pays

Two reward models, always stated up front.

Referral rewards are set per role, not per person. Some roles carry a flat fee; others carry a percentage of the placement fee, which means a specialist referral is worth more than a generalist one. You always see which model applies — and the number — before you decide to refer.

  • Nothing is retrospective. The reward shown when you submit is the reward you're paid
  • No sliding scale on your side. Your reward doesn't shrink because a role took longer to fill
  • No cost to refer. There is no fee, no subscription and no platform charge, ever
  • Paid to you or your entity — on written request, with a W-9 in the entity's name
Not sure what a specific role pays? Ask your Liaison before you refer. They will confirm the model and the figure in writing, and nothing obliges you to proceed.
How a role can payTWO MODELS
Flat feefixed amount per placementamount
Same reward whatever the salary. Common on technician, RBT and support roles, where compensation varies little.
Percentageshare of the placement fee%
Scales with first-year compensation. Common on DVM, board-certified specialist and psychiatrist roles.
The figure on the role is the one that counts. These are the two structures we use; the actual reward for any given role is displayed on that role and confirmed in writing when your referral is accepted.
Common questions

What people ask before their first referral.

How does the PayRecruiter referral program work?

You submit a colleague's name and contact details through one short form, with their permission. A specialist Talent Partner from their field takes over the conversation, the screening and the process. If your referral is hired, you are paid the reward stated on that role.

Do I have to be a recruiter to refer someone?

No. Referral Partners are working clinical professionals, not recruiters. You are never asked to screen, interview, negotiate or chase anyone. Your involvement ends when you submit the referral.

How much do I get paid for a referral?

It depends on the role. Some roles carry a flat referral fee; others carry a percentage of the placement fee, which scales with first-year compensation. Whichever applies is shown on the role before you submit, and confirmed in writing when your referral is accepted.

When am I paid for a referral?

After your referral is hired and the placement completes, on the schedule set out in your referral agreement. There is nothing to invoice and nothing to negotiate — the amount was fixed before you referred.

Do I need my colleague's permission before referring them?

Yes, always, and it is the one rule we do not bend. Confirm your colleague is happy to be referred before you submit their details. Referrals submitted without consent are declined, and repeated attempts end the arrangement.

What happens if two people refer the same candidate?

The first submission recorded in the platform is the one credited. Attribution is logged the moment you submit, so it never depends on who follows up fastest.

Can I refer someone when there is no matching role open right now?

Yes. With their consent we keep the referral on file and match it against verified roles as they open. Attribution is recorded from your original submission date, not from when the role appears.

Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?

No limit, and no minimum either. One referral is a complete contribution. There are no quotas, no exclusivity, and no obligation to refer again.

Other kinds of introduction

Not a candidate? There's still a route.

This page is about referring colleagues for clinical roles. If the person you have in mind belongs somewhere else in the network, send them straight to the right door — the reward structure is set out on each of these pages.
